…And I, infinitesimal being,
drunk with the great starry
likeness, image of
felt myself a pure part
of the abyss,
I wheeled with the stars,
my heart broke loose on the wind.

The left handed path is not a sinister path. It is not “of the devil” or necessarily evil in any way. The left handed path is the method one employs to “make the darkness conscious,” as Jung says. Rather than hiding behind sugary mixed metaphors of light and love, those who overcome their fear of what hides in the night and then goes in search of what lives there will retrieve their souls.
